Lacrosse Set for Second Meeting with Warren Wilson

SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (1-3, 0-0 CSAC) will meet the Warren Wilson College Owls (1-4)  for only the second time in program history as the team travels to Ashville, N.C. tomorrow.
 
The Vixens will take the field at 11 a.m. for their first match in over two weeks after last facing Muskingum on March 9.
 
First-year Sofia Martinez-Tomatis (Santa Barbara, Calif.) recorded half of Sweet Briar's goals against the Fighting Muskies while junior goalkeeper Kat Navarro (Carlsbad, Calif.) recorded a career-high 16 saves.
 
Currently, junior Jamison Tarver (Kingwood, Texas) leads the team in ground balls with 20 and caused turnovers with 15.
 
What to Know
  • The Vixens lead the all-time series 1-0 after defeating the Owls 17-7 last year.
  • Martinez-Tomatis ranks first in the nation in free position percentage with four free position goals on all four of her shots.
  • Tarver also ranks within the top 10 nationally with an average of 3.75 caused turnovers per game.
What's Next
The team will return home to take on Eastern Mennonite on Friday, March 31 at 6 p.m.
