CLINTON, Miss. – The Sweet Briar College cross country team completed the 2024 season this morning with the NCAA Division III South Regional Championship at Choctaw Trails. The team placed 24th, the third-highest finish in program history.
Senior
Angelyn Wiggins (Churchville, Md.) led the way for the Vixens in 116th. Wiggins crossed the finish line at the 26:41.39 mark.
Junior
Carolina Wilson (Hedgesville, W. Va.) secured 120 points for Sweet Briar with her time of 27:17.21 while senior
Alia Peets (Devonshire, Bermuda) finished just over a minute behind her at 28:44.97.
Junior
Etaf Jumaa (Katy, Texas) also posted a career-best time at Regionals by nearly two minutes thanks to her time of 30:56.57.
Highlights
- Peets had a career-best Regionals performance, breaking the 29-minute mark for the first time.
- Sophomore Mia Viccora (Fairfax, Va.) posted a time of 31:02.62.
