Cross Country Completes ODAC Championship

SALEM, Va. – The Sweet Briar College cross country team completed the 2024 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Cross Country Championship today with four runners in action at Green Hill Park.
 
Junior Carolina Wilson (Hedgesville, W. Va.) led the way for the Vixens with a 64th-place finish and a time of 25:46.1 while senior Angelyn Wiggins (Churchville, Md.) came in 74th thanks to her time of 26:39.8.
 
Fellow senior Alia Peets (Devonshire, Bermuda) crossed the finish line at the 28:41.8 mark to place in 85th.
 
Rounding out the field for the Sweet Briar was junior Etaf Jumaa (Katy, Texas) who's time of 30:51.6 saw her cross the line in 93rd.
 
Highlights
  • Peets bested her time from last year's championship by nearly a full minute.
  • Peets, Wiggins and Wilson all etch their names in the Sweet Briar record book for top-20 fastest ODAC Championship times in program history.
  • Today's time marks a new career-best 6k time for Jumaa.
 
What's Next
The Vixens will head to the NCAA Division III South Regional Championship in Jackson, Miss. On Nov. 16th.
