RUSTBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College IHSA team was crowned Reserve Champion at today's show hosted by Liberty University.
Junior
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) became the latest Vixen rider to qualify for Regionals after placing first in open fences.
Senior
Sarah Southard (Culpeper, Va.), juniors
Emily Roberts (Goochland, Va.) and
Marran Vansickle (Powhatan, Va.) and sophomore
Caitlyn Uimari (Marquette, Mich.) also saw first-place finishes in intermediate flat, limit flat, intermediate flat and novice flat, respectively.
Sophomore
Audrey Flattich picked up a pair of second-place finishes in open flat and limit fences while fellow sophomore
Sarah Pastula (Rockford, Mich.) was second in limit fences.
Additionally, sophomore
Cameron Fox (Williamsburg, Va.) nabbed an additional second place finish on the day in the introductory class.
Rounding out the field for Sweet Briar were junior
Ash Burnett (Smyrna, Del.) and sophomores
Maggie Booth (Marietta, Ga.) and
Davis Shiflett (Louisa, Va.) who all placed third in limit flat, open fences and novice flat, respectively.
Highlights
- Vansickle also placed third in intermediate fences.
- Atherton has qualified for Regionals for the first time in her career.

The Vixens will conclude the 2023-24 regular season with their senior day tomorrow at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center
