LEXINGTON, Va. – The Sweet Briar College equestrian program competed in the 2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Traditional Championships this afternoon, placing fourth.
Senior
Maggie Booth (Marietta, Ga.) and first-year
Hallie Nelson (Duette, Fla.) represented the Vixens over fences while senior
Wyette Felton (Canton, Ga.) and first-year
Sadie Swift (Leonardtown, Md.) competed on the flat.
In class one competition, Felton averaged the highest score out of any competitor with an 88.25 while Swift also scored in the 80's with an average of an 82.
Nelson totaled a 77.5 while Booth recorded a 69 to put Sweet Briar in second place.
Felton once again led the way for the Vixens in class two with her average of 76.5 while Nelson earned a 70 and Booth and Swift averaged score of 67.5 and 62, respectively, to put Sweet Briar in third heading into the final round.
Felton totaled a 77.5 while Swift scored a 74.5 to put Sweet Briar in fourth following the conclusion of the Championships.
Felton was named to the All-Conference team after securing the third-highest score out of any rider in the competition.
Highlights
- Felton was named the ODAC/Va. Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
- This year's Championship marked the first time since 2022 that Sweet Briar had two or more rookie riders compete.

The NCEA program will next compete at Bridgewater on Oct. 31st.
