ROANOKE, Va. – The Sweet Briar College swim team (0-7, 0-5 ODAC) concluded the first half of the season yesterday with action at Hollins University (5-2), falling 118-48.
In the early events, sophomore
Emily Carter (Kermit, W. Va.), junior
EJ Scherrer (Simpsonville, S.C.), sophomore
Geneva Seitz (Havre de Grace, Md.) and junior
Julia Elliott (Norfolk, Va.) stood out for Sweet Briar in the 400-yard medley relay, posting a time of 5:52.44.
Carter added strong individual legs across the meet, including a solid 34.85 in the 50-yard freestyle along with sophomore
Carlee Minyard (Jacksonville, Fla.) who clocked in a time of 40.81, first-year
Kylee Nickerson (Waterford, Mich.) posted 40.83 and Elliot who recorded a time of 37.78 underscoring the program's depth in sprint speed. First-year
Ava Powers (Crandall, Texas) also saw action in the race, putting forth a time of 38.41.
Scherrer also produced a 2:40.41 in the 200-yard freestyle, marking a solid showing for the Vixens in mid-distance freestyle, backed by Seitz's 2:42.72 in the same event, demonstrating breadth across short and mid-distance freestyle duties.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Seitz contributed a 1:35.45 while Boyce recorded a time of 1:51.71, highlighting strong performances among the Sweet Briar athletes.
Both Carter and Powers saw action in the 100-yard backstroke and earned times of 1:23.84 and 1:49.52, respectively.
