GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Sweet Briar College swim team (2-9, 1-8 ODAC) moved up to 10th following the completion of the second full day of action of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Sophomore
Ella Scherrer (Simpsonville, S.C.) led the way for the Vixens in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:23.26 to place 26th. First-year
Geneva Seitz (Havre de Grace, Md.) captured 28th thanks to a new personal-best time of 2:25.37.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, senior
Jillian Lewis (Ellicott City, Md.) earned one of the highest finishes for a Sweet Briar swimmer in the championship so far with a time of 1:12.92 to place 19th.
Fellow senior
Mary Catherine Warner (Virginia Beach, Va.) equaled Lewis's performance with one of her own in the 100-yard backstroke. Warner placed 19th as well with a time of 1:07.09.
During the day's evening session, the 200-yard medley relay team outpaced both Hollins and Guilford to place ninth with a time of 2:04.68.
Highlights
- First-year Carlee Minyard (Jacksonville, Fla.) also competed in the 100-yard breaststroke and earned a new personal best of 2:07.38, nearly 17 seconds faster than her previous record.
- Warner's performance in the 100-yard backstroke marks a new personal-best time as well as her highest-ever finish at the Championship.

The ODAC Championship will conclude tomorrow with sessions at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
