WACO, Texas – The No. 2 Sweet Briar College NCEA team had six student-athletes named to the APHA All-Academic Team, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) announced today.
Seniors
Isabelle Mesiarik (Pottstown, Pa.) and
Ella Peterson (Ashland, Va.) and juniors
Maggie Booth (Marietta, Ga.),
Naomi Dachis (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and
Wyette Felton (Canton, Ga.) all earned spots on the First Team.
All five riders, along with sophomore
Darien Murphy (Jaffrey, N.H.) earned spots on the Honor Roll as well.
To be eligible for First Team selection, student-athletes must have competed in a minimum of 70% of Sweet Briar's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, and must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Any student-athlete with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher receive spots on the Honor Roll.
Sweet Briar will next compete at the NCEA National Championships, April 18th – 19th, in Ocala, Fla.
