CARLISLE, Pa. – The Sweet Briar College tennis team (12-5, 7-1 ODAC) fell to the Dickinson College Red Devils (10-4, 3-2 CC) this evening by a score of 5-2.
The Vixens put up a fight in doubles action, despite losing the point, with the duo of Guilarte/Lima going to extra games to decide their No. 2 match.
In singles play, victories were captured by sophomore
Isadora Lima (Natal, Brazil) at No. 3 and
Lucia Bovard (Mount Pleasant, N.C.) at No. 5.
Lima defeated Natasha Sharnoff, 6-4, 6-0 and Bovard bested Loretta Szych, 6-3, 6-0.
Junior
Alex Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) sent her No. 2 singles match to extra games in the first set before ultimately falling by a score of 7-6 (7-5) and 6-2 in the second set.
