OCALA, Fla. – The No. 4 Sweet Briar College NCEA team (6-5, 5-2 ODAC) put together a strong showing in the 2026 National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) National Championship Single Discipline semifinals at the World Equestrian Center, narrowly falling to the No. 1 Lynchburg University Hornets (11-2) on raw scores, 774.33 – 787.33, after tying on points 5-5.
In the fences portion, Sweet Briar was led by senior
Maggie Booth (Marietta, Ga.), who posted an 85.3 on Q, while fellow senior
Naomi Dachis (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) added an 84.3 on Rico and first-year
Hallie Nelson (Duette, Fla.) scored 75.3 on Bruno.
On the flat, sophomore
Abigail Schreiner (Villa Rica, Ga.) earned one of Sweet Briar's points with 81.7 on Emil, while fellow sophomore
Gracie Robertson (Mocksville, N.C.) also picked up a point with a 76.3 on Caprice.
Highlights
- Nelson picked up the largest margin of victory for a Vixen rider in the meet, with an 8.6-point win over Stella Patenaude over fences.
- Booth's score of 85.3 was the second-highest out of any rider in the meet.
