HAMPTON, Va. – The Sweet Briar College swim team (2-6, 1-6 ODAC) wrapped up action in 2024 with the final of action at the Yellow Jacket Mid-Season Invite.
The Vixens saw action in four preliminary events today, the 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard breaststroke.
First-year
Emily Carter (Beckley, W. Va.) put up a time of 2:58.37 in the 200-yard backstroke for a new personal best while sophomore
Ella Scherrer's (Simpsonville, S.C.) time of 3:14.70 in the 200-yard breaststroke put her in 26th.
Senior
Mary Catherine Warner (Virginia Beach, Va.), sophomore
Jules Elliott (Norfolk, Va.) and first-year
Carlee Minyard (Jacksonville, Fla.) all competed in the 100-yard freestyle and recorded times of 1:00.93, 1:25.20 and 1:43.42, respectively.
Sweet Briar concluded the event with 13th in the 400-yard freestyle relay thanks to the team's time of 4:35.24.
Highlights
- Senior Jillian Lewis (Ellicott City, Md.) advanced to her second finals of the invitational with an 18th-place showing in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- First-year Geneva Seitz (Havre de Grace, Md.) earned a new personal-best time of 23:11.42 in the 1650-yard freestyle.

The Vixens will open up 2025 at Randolph on Jan. 18th.
