VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Sweet Briar College golf team placed sixth at the Marlins Invitational to kick off the spring season, earning a combined team score of 744 (+168) through two days of action.
The Vixens scored a 377 (+89) in round one and then bettered their score by 10 strokes in round two to earn a 367 (+79).
Senior
Amani Narang (Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India) led the way for the team with a second-place finish and a two-day score of 158 (+14). The India native shot an 81 (+9) yesterday before hitting the 70s today with a score of 77 (+5).
Sophomore
Isabella Peregrine (Liberty, Mo.) recorded her second top-20 finish of the season thanks to her score of 185 (+39). Peregrine was stable throughout the two rounds of competition with a 92 (+20) in round one and a 93 (+21) in round two.
Senior
Haley Holzworth (Scottsbluff, Neb.) secured her best finish of the season with a score of 200 (+56) to put her in 29th. The Nebraska native shot a 101 (+29) on day one before shaving off a few strokes to earn a 99 (+27) today.
Sophomore
Kendel Wickline (Frederick, Md.) also showed improvement today with a 98 (+30) compared to her score of 103 (+31) yesterday. Her two-day total of 201 (+57) put her right behind Holzworth on the leaderboard in 30th.
Fellow sophomore
Kailei Minter (Martinsville, Va.) and senior
Hannah Norvell (Littleton, Colo.) also finished close together on the leaderboard. Minter racked up a two-day total score of 213 (+69) while Norvell recorded a combined score of 219 (+75).
Highlights
- Today's action marks the seventh round in the 70s so far this season for Narang as well as her fifth top-five finish.
- Wickline's second-round score of 98 marks her lowest round score this season while Norvell totaled her season's lowest round on Monday and then bested that score today.

The Vixens will compete at The Ruckus, March 22nd – 23rd, at the Williamsburg National Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va.
