LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College outdoor track & field team completed the 2025 season today with action at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier.
Five Vixens contested the shot put with junior
Jaiana Gray (Chicago, Ill.) leading the way with a throw of 9.92m to put her in fifth. Sophomore
Quinn Gorman (Leesburg, Va.) was not far behind in eighth with a throw of 8.48m while first-year Michael Carr placed ninth with her throw of 5.92m. Fellow first-year
Kathleen Borum (Chesapeake, Va.) rounded out the top 10 after recording a distance of 5.28m and senior
Olivia Garrett (Williamsburg, Va.) came in 11th after sending her throw 5.23m.
First-year
Electra McPherson (Madison Heights, Va.) was the first Sweet Briar runner on the timing sheet in the 100-meter dash. McPherson set a new personal-best time of 13.68 in the event to place 14th. Senior
Alia Peets (Devonshire, Bermuda) contested the distance for the first time this season and earned a time of 13.78 while fellow seniors
Julianna McIntyre (Englewood, Fla.) and
Molly Booth (Orono, Maine) finished one after the other with times of 13.92 and 14.40, respectively.
Gray also led the team in the hammer throw with a distance of 26.84m putting her in eighth followed by Gorman in ninth, Garrett in 10th and Borum in 11th. Gorman recorded a new personal-best throw of 25.28 while Garrett and Borum also PR'd with throws of 16.64m and 14.45m, respectively.
In the 200-meter dash, McPherson crossed the finish line at the 28.65 mark followed by McIntyre at 30.01 and Booth at 30.89.
The Vixens' 4.100 relay team placed fourth today with a combined time of 55.28.

Alia Peets and sophomore
Ella Scherrer (Simpsonville, S.C.) earned top-10 finishes in the 400-meter dash. Peets recorded a time of 1:08.14 to place sixth while Scherrer completed the race in 1:31.30 to come in eighth.
Highlights
- McIntyre broker her program and personal record in the javelin throw with a mark of 14.65m.
- Sophomore Mia Viccora (Fairfax, Va.) smashed her program record in the 800-meter run by nearly eight seconds with her time of 2:46.77 today.
