GREENWOOD, Ind. – Junior
Alyssa O'Quinn (Powhatan, Va.) and senior
Victoria Tew (Hope Mills, N.C.) were named to the College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District Softball Team for the second straight year, the organization announced, May 27th.
O'Quinn made 21 appearances for the Vixens in the circle with five starts and two complete games. The Virginia native gave up zero earned runs in nine of her outings and gave up the least amount of walks for any Sweet Briar pitcher who pitched at least one inning per game.
Tew held the second-best batting average on the team with a .357 through 32 games played. The North Carolina native scored 11 runs and totaled 30 hits and 15 RBIs to earn a .369 slugging percentage and a .407 on-base percentage.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings. Student-athletes must also have achieved at least a 3.50 GPA.
