FOREST, Va. – Senior
Kaylie Hudson (Lynchburg, Va.) of the Sweet Briar College softball team has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced today.
The Vixens won both games of the season-opening doubleheader against Mary Washington on Feb. 18th by scores of 11-8 (8 Inn.) and 13-8.
In game one of the series, Hudson went two-for-five with two runs scored and a triple. As a catcher, she contributed 11 putouts.
Game two saw the Virginia native go three-for-five with three runs scored and a double. Hudson was also perfect around the bases with three stolen bases on three total attempts.
Hudson currently leads the team in runs scored, hits and triples, while being top-five in the conference in runs scored, RBIs, triples and stolen bases.
This marks the first weekly honor of Hudson's career.
The Vixens will be back in action with two doubleheaders this week at Greensboro (Feb. 25th) and against North Carolina Wesleyan (Feb. 28th).
