LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College track & field team saw a mix of program and personal bests and solid efforts across both track and field at this meet.
First-year
Tyasia Spencer (Fredericksburg, Va.) led the way on the track, placing eighth in the 100m with a time of 13.22 into a headwind, and returning later to finish ninth in the 400m in 1:04.25.
In the 200m, first-year
Elaina Sherline (Morehead City, N.C.) clocked a personal best of 28.83, while fellow first-year
Azshalay Utley (Columbus, Ohio) followed in 29.86 and junior
Mia Viccora (Fairfax, Va.) added a 30.32 effort. Utley continued her day in the 400m, posting a personal best of 1:08.61.
Sherline delivered one of the top performances of the meet for Sweet Briar in the 800m, finishing third overall with a personal best time of 2:22.98. Viccora also notched a personal best in the event, crossing in 2:40.57.
In the field events, sophomore
Karissa Boyce (Red Rock, Texas) recorded a mark of 10.21m (33-6) to place twelfth in the javelin.
Highlights
- Sherline recorded a new program record in the 800m, besting her previous time of 2:23.19.

The Vixens will compete in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, April 24th – 25th.
