LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College outdoor track & field team capped off the 2026 season with action at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier today.
The Vixens turned in a solid set of performances across the track and field events, showing depth and determination throughout the meet.
In the 400-meter dash, first-year
Tyasia Spencer (Fredericksburg, Va.) clocked a time of 1:05.24 to finish 13th, continuing to build consistency in the sprint event.
The 800-meter run saw two Vixens compete, with first-year
Elaina Sherline (Morehead City, N.C.) leading the way in 12th place at 2:30.66, while junior
Mia Viccora (Fairfax, Va.) followed in 17th with a time of 2:40.93, adding valuable experience in a competitive field.
In the throwing events, senior
Jaiana Gray (Chicago, Ill.) placed 10th in the hammer throw with a mark of 90 feet, 9¾ inches, contributing a strong effort in the field. Sophomore
Karissa Boyce (Red Rock, Texas) rounded out the day with an 8th-place finish in the javelin, reaching 61 feet, 4 inches to secure a top-10 placement for Sweet Briar.
