FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College tennis team landed a pair of student-athletes on the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State College Division Tennis Team.
Earning honors this year were seniors
Lucia Bovard (Mount Pleasant, N.C.) and
Alex Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela).
Both Bovard and Guilarte were named to the team in doubles, having amassed 10 wins as a team during the 2025-26 campaign. Nine of the duo's wins came at the No. 1 doubles spot during the dual season, including victories over conference opponents Lynchburg, Hollins, Shenandoah, Roanoke, Batten, Randolph, and Randolph-Macon.
Guilarte also earned a spot on the team as a singles player, having picked up seven wins during the spring season at the No. 1 position. Key victories for the Venezuelan native included wins against Lynchburg, Shenandoah,
Roanoke, Batten, and Randolph-Macon.
This marks the second selection for Guilarte and the first for Bovard.
