GREENWOOD, Ind. – Six student-athletes from Sweet Briar College were selected for the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Division III At-Large Team, the organization announced yesterday, June 17th.
Receiving honors from the CSC were senior
Amani Narang (Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India) of golf, seniors
Lara Jost (Würzburg, Germany) and
Kailey McCarthy (Atkinson, N.H.) and juniors
Sophia Bovino (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and
Jenna Prevet (Nesconset, N.Y.) of field hockey and junior
Ashley Prevet (Nesconset, N.Y.), a member of the field hockey and lacrosse programs.
Narang has earned CSC honors for the third straight year and was recently named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC)/Va. Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete at this past year's ODAC Championship. The India native once against earned a spot on the All-ODAC Second Team while also being named an 18-Hole Pi Flag Honoree.
Jost and A. Prevet have found their names on the list for the second year in a row. Jost played and started in all 17 games for the Vixens this past year and totaled two goals and three assists for seven points as a defender.
During the fall field hockey season, A. Prevet saw action in 16 games and scored a goal in the final minutes of a closely contested game at Kenyon to open the season. As a member of the lacrosse program, the New York native saw action in all 13 games and totaled four goals and three assists for seven points.
Bovino, McCarthy and J. Prevet are all earning CSC honors for the first time in their careers.
Bovino played and started in 13 games in the fall and scored her first career goal at EMU on Oct. 12th. McCarthy never missed starting a game in 2024 and concluded the season with three goals and two assists for eight points as an integral part of Sweet Briar's defense. J. Prevet also started in all 17 games and led the team with three defensive saves.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team, student-athletes must have achieved at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically. For field hockey and lacrosse athletes, eligible nominees must have competed in at least 90 percent of the institution's games played or started in at least 66 percent of games. Golfers must have been included in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's team scoring events or in the lineup at a conference championship tournament.
